Delete your account
You can delete your account yourself from Security in your account settings. It permanently removes your profile, every marking project, all uploaded submissions and all marks. It cannot be undone.
Before you delete
- Your subscription ends with the account. Deleting the account cancels any paid subscription straight away, and you are not charged again. The unused part of the current period is not refunded, so if it matters to you, cancel from Billing and delete the account when the period ends. See Paid plans, changes and cancelling.
- Export anything you need. Download marking sheets or grade files for any assessment you still need. See Export to Excel and PDF.
Delete your account
- Open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Profile.
- Choose Security and scroll to Delete account.
- Choose Delete my account.
- Confirm who you are (see below).
- Choose Delete permanently.
- In Permanently delete your account?, choose Delete my account.
You are signed out and taken to the home page.
Confirming who you are
If you signed up with email, enter your password in Confirm with your current password.
If you signed up with Google, LinkedIn or X, you have no password to enter. Type DELETE MY ACCOUNT exactly instead.
What happens to your data
Your profile, projects, specs, rubrics, submissions and marks are removed. Any paid subscription is cancelled at the same time.
If the subscription cannot be cancelled, for example because Stripe is unavailable, the account is not deleted and you see a message asking you to cancel from Billing first. Our Privacy Policy notes that residual backups and logs may persist for a limited period.
Delete projects instead
If you only want to remove some marking, you can delete projects and keep your account. See Delete projects and data.
Common questions
- Can I get my account back after deleting it?
- No. Deletion is permanent. You can sign up again with the same email, but your earlier projects and marks will not come back.
- Why is there no password box for my account?
- Accounts created with Google, LinkedIn or X confirm deletion by typing DELETE MY ACCOUNT instead of a password.
