The free plan
The free plan lets you mark one submission a day. Your allowance resets at midnight in your local time zone.
What Free includes
| Limit | Free plan |
|---|---|
| Marking | 1 marking credit and 1 marking a day |
| Reset | Midnight, your local time |
| Active assessments | 1 |
| Submissions marked per assessment | 1 |
Your time zone is taken from your browser when you use DeepMarking.
Uploading a class on Free
You can still drop a whole class ZIP. DeepMarking reads it and lists every student, but only the first student can be marked. Use Mark on that row. Pressing Mark all with more than one student opens Upgrade to mark all submissions.
When you reach the daily limit
Marking is blocked until midnight in your local time. You see "You have used today's free marking. Upgrade to mark more, or wait until local midnight." The one-marking-a-day limit applies even if you have review reward credits.
Starting a second assessment
Free allows one active assessment. Starting another opens Assessment limit reached. Either delete the old assessment (see Delete projects and data) or choose View plans.
Free compared with the guest try
The guest try on the home page gives one marking per network, with no account and nothing saved. A free account gives you a marking every day, and your projects are kept.
Upgrading
Open the account menu and choose Upgrade plan. See Paid plans, changes and cancelling.
Common questions
- Does the free allowance roll over if I skip a day?
- No. Free resets to one marking at midnight each day. Unused days do not add up.
- Does reading my rubric or spec use my daily marking?
- No. Reading criteria from a rubric file, pasted text or the spec works on every plan and uses no credits. Only marking a submission counts.
