Review rewards and bonus markings
Updated
DeepMarking has two kinds of extra marking with similar names. Review rewards are credits you earn by checking the AI's marks. Bonus markings come from inviting colleagues. They are earned, used and lost in different ways.

Review rewards
Open a marked student and confirm the criteria you agree with. Each third of the criteria you confirm earns 1 credit, up to 3 credits per submission. Editing a criterion's mark or comment counts as confirming it. The student's result card shows the progress under Review rewards.
- Reward credits count towards the credits you have left, so they let you keep marking when your plan's credits run out.
- They do not lift Free's limit of one marking a day.
- You can hold up to 9 unspent reward credits. Rewards beyond that are not added.
- They do not expire.
A reward is taken back when you un-confirm criteria, re-mark the submission, or delete the submission or its project. If you have already used the reward, the same amount is counted as credits you have used.
To see your balance, open the account menu, choose Profile, then Usage. See Review and change marks.
Bonus markings
You earn bonus markings through your referral link:
- 3 bonus markings when a colleague you invited verifies their email and marks a real submission. Up to 10 of these rewards a month.
- 5 bonus markings when you are on Free and a colleague you invited subscribes.
A bonus marking lets you mark one submission when your plan would otherwise stop you: Free's one marking a day, a paid plan's daily ceiling, or credits that have run out. It is used only then, and the one that expires soonest goes first. On Free, each bonus marking you receive also lets your assessment hold one more submission.
Bonus markings expire 90 days after you earn them. You can hold up to 30 unspent. To see how many you have, open the account menu, choose Profile, then Referral earnings. See Invite colleagues and earn rewards.
Common questions
- Can review rewards let me mark more than one submission a day on the free plan?
- No. Free's limit of one marking a day applies even when you have review reward credits. A bonus marking from a referral can take you past it.
- Do review rewards expire?
- No. Unspent reward credits stay until you use them, up to 9. Bonus markings from referrals expire after 90 days.
