Try DeepMarking before you sign up

Updated

You can see DeepMarking at work before you create an account, in three ways: mark one student on the home page, explore the results demo, or read a sample result.

Mark one student on the home page

On a computer or tablet, the home page has the same upload panel lecturers use.

  1. Drop or paste the spec, the rubric and the student files.
  2. Check the settings under the panel.
  3. Press Start marking.
  • Only the first student DeepMarking finds is marked.
  • The guest try uses your rubric to mark. When it cannot read criteria with marks from it, it marks against three general criteria: content and understanding, structure and clarity, and evidence and referencing.
  • The result appears on the page. Nothing is saved: leaving or reloading the page clears it.
  • Each network gets one free guest marking, counted only when the marking succeeds. After that you see Free guest marking used, with Log in and Sign up for free.

Files you used in the guest try are not carried into a new account. Add them again once you are signed in.

To limit each network to one free try, we keep your network (IP) address and browser type. See our Privacy Policy.

Explore the results demo

The results demo is the real results screen, with a class of fictional students already marked. You can sort the class, switch between the charts, open a student, and confirm or change marks and comments.

Nothing you change is saved, and a reload starts over. Uploading, marking, deleting and Excel downloads are switched off in the demo.

Read a sample result

The sample result walks through one assessment marked in DeepMarking, from rubric to export. The unit, the students and their work are made up.

On a phone

The home page on a phone has no upload panel. It offers Try the demo and Sample result, and Send the link to my computer so you can carry on there. On a phone the results demo is read only: you can see the class, sort and search it, and open a student. The Help centre and the Guides also open on a phone. See Supported devices.

Create a free account

Choose Sign up for free to keep your projects and marks and to mark against your own rubric every time. See Create an account and The free plan.

Common questions

Is the guest try saved anywhere?
No project and no result are saved. The only thing kept is your network address and browser type, so each network gets one free try.
Can I change marks in the results demo?
Yes, on a computer or tablet. The changes stay in your browser until you reload the page, and nothing is saved. On a phone the demo is read only.
